Everything will be taking place at our regular meeting place at Citrus Road Church of the Nazarene. Please join us and invite friends who would like to learn about Yeshua in the Feasts and Festivals and/or learn more about our congregation.

“God of this City” 2011 Equipping Seminar

I will be leading two workshops at this year’s seminar for the Arizona/So. Nev. District of the COTN’s Equipping Seminar and I’ve had people ask about the details of the seminar so I thought I’d share them here.

The Image of Woman: In this session we will explore topics ranging from the feminine names for God, feminine imagery of God in Scripture, and how God in flesh treated women, to the actual Jewish traditional view of women that has been misunderstood by much of the church in developing its own doctrines regarding women–Crystal Lutton

4 levels of Hebraic thought/study and the Gospels: In Jewish thought and study there are 4 levels of study and these 4 levels parallel the Gospels. In this session we will explore the purpose of the Gospels and how we approach reading them based on how they represent each of these 4 levels of study and what they would have meant to the original audience.–Crystal Lutton

Creating Friendly Classrooms–explores how to help kids have a sense of belonging in classrooms; interactive and includes practical ideas

Let us Pray–Interactive workshop exploring the power of prayer in ministry to children and activities for children to do while praying

Living LARGE–explores Large Group Ministry that includes children of all ages worshiping together

Marketing Your Children’s Ministries–making children’s ministry a priority

God’s Amazing Spectrum–how to make sure your church is relevant and welcoming to families with children who have special needs

Putting Zap into your Nursery–how to create nurseries that parents will trust and feel comfortable using

Early Childhood: “Capturing the Attention of Preschoolers”–enhance preschool classroom time by capturing and channeling the energy and excitement of preschoolers. discusses hands on Bible approaches and discipline techniques** (my note–I do not know what this will include but this is for a classroom setting and the COTN is incredibly focused on grace so I imagine this will be practical hands on interaction with the children. If anyone wants more information I will find out for you what approach this will involve :) )

Being Techno in Kids Church–using current technology with a minimal budget to bring God’s Word to life.

Camp Counselor–what the expectations are

Dealing with ANGER – Discipline in the Classroom–help for those who do not move naturally in the realm of managing a classroom **(my note–same caveat as above. I will find out more if anyone is interested)

Intergenerational Ministries–connecting the family to make a difference, it’s time to change how we do what we do
